Mission Statement

The Association aims to gather like-minded folk and artists of kindred spirit, to further the cause of our cultural past, with music, song and dance, restoring and preserving forgotten meaningful work, upholding, enriching and protecting our traditions and folklore. ©

Membership is open to Musicians, Dancers, Singers, Actors and Artists in and around the Mendip Hills together with affiliated membership from outside the area.

Constitution

• To gather membership of Musicians, Dancers, Singers, Actors, and Artists in and around the Mendip Hills and also the offer of affiliated membership to Musicians, Dancers and Singers from outside the area.
• To help keep the true tradition of the Peoples Folk Lore
• To gain a respectable standing within the community at large and to be able to use a united front when dealing with officials and bureaucrats.
• To obtain funding for special events and/or public profile which will add to the recognition of the Association.
• To give back to the membership special advantages such as promotions, bookings, and media publicity, as well as local purchase discounts.
• To put on shows and promotions.
• To set up musical workshops and other learning ventures.
• To run gigs and reach a wider audience.
• To keep costs of any function as low as possible.

Membership is annual, and from the date of application.

IMPORTANT: A current membership card must be shown at festival entrance to gain free entry to festivals. Free entry does not include camping costs.
